Has anyone purchased an extended warranty (~$800) for their 2210? Reason for asking, I just got mine and now the machine is covered until Jan 31, 2008 or 2000 hours whichever occurs first and can be transferred to the next buyer. I'm really not a fan of extended warranties, but the machine was "technically" going to run out this month, since I purchased one of the first released in 2003, and with a completely new machine thought it might not be a bad thing, plus I think it will help on resale assuming it occurs before this extended warranty runs out.

Well, if you have already made the purchase then I'd say it was the right decision <:^)...don't look back. It won't do you any good. If you are trying to decide, make sure you know all the details of what is covered and what is not. To put it in gambling terms, basically, you are betting $800 that your machine will have a problem before 2008 and that the problem will cost more than the bet. I've had extended warrantys that were bad bets, and a couple that were good bets. If you don't want the worry, make your bet and take your chances. If you try to sell the tractor on the open market before the extended warranty is up, it's a great selling point. However, dealers will not likely increase your trade-in allowance because you have the extended warranty. Good luck--Pete ....

Can the extended warrantee be purchased from ANY JD dealer or must it be bought from the original selling dealer? Do prices vary?? ....

It's my understanding through any dealer, so I would locate the one you plan to visit and purchase for years to come the chosen one. I know this is the case, since my machine was originally purchased in Michigan and now the warranty is in Indiana. ....
